“For unto us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6 (NIV)
As we all pause to celebrate the gift of God’s Son, it is also time to celebrate the many blessings we have experienced as a community at Meadowlark Christian School. We are living in challenging times, but we see evidence of God’s love in our midst.
The work of the Foundation is to honour the integrity and mission of the Community Christian Education Program (CCEP). Core values of Christ-centeredness, successful students, outreach and service are guiding principles of our program and always at the forefront of the Foundation’s decision-making.
Long term thinking is also an integral part of the Foundation’s focus and the conversation often revolves around how we “pay it forward” on an ongoing basis. We are mindful of those who founded the school and the supporters who made sacrifices to ensure the school’s success. We encourage parents and guardians of current students to remember that without the fortitude of those who came before, and our partnership with Edmonton Public School Division, the school would not exist.
As we approach Christmas, it is our prayer that you experience the “great joy that will be for all the people.” May you be blessed by the gentle wonders of this holy season.
On behalf of the MCS Foundation,
Brett Whittington,
Chair of the Board
