Principal Message – April 2023

MCS Family,

Spring is upon us, snow is melting or still falling depending on the day, because, let’s face it … we live in Alberta and that is just how it happens. Days are brighter, longer and warmer. If you are an outdoor enthusiast, maybe you are digging out your hiking boots, dusting off your bicycle, looking ahead to summer to book your favorite camping spot.

Spring symbolizes growth, new beginnings – hope.

This new season also brings with it Easter, “He has Risen!”. The time where we celebrate, remember and acknowledge LOVE. “For God so loved the world …” This act of love we remember through the image of the cross also symbolizes growth, new beginnings, being reborn – hope.

Hope rooted in actions of love. What a gift! We have hope because of the actions we engage in to show loving God and loving our neighbour. MCS, our active participation in formational learning experiences such as food donations, clothing drives, celebrating our cultural diversity, creating beautiful work in our classes, tying blue ribbons on our school fence and traveling to Belize to help communities build sustainable hydroponics projects all give hope.

What a great season to be in!

“He has Risen Indeed!”

Sincerely,

Scott Markine, Principal
