Principal’s Message January 2015

Dear Parents,

Welcome back to our second New Year this year! I hope that each of you had a special Christmas celebrating God’s gift to us, our savior Jesus! The start of the school year in September is its own type of new year and we get to celebrate a second new year again in January. Students and staff alike were very excited to return to school this past Monday and see their friends and colleagues of the MCS community.

At our staff devotions this week, Mrs. Veldhuisen led us in a devotional where the theme was campfires. She reminisced about her experiences and of how campfires have special meanings for many of us. You may have many memories of campfires, quiet moments celebrating the amazing natural world God created for us, joyous moments and celebrations, the fun of roasting marshmallows and making s’mores and the community feeling which results when you share a campfire with friends and family.

She then tied this feeling and spirit to the community feeling which exists at Meadowlark Christian School, where we share a sense of peace and well-being resulting from the openness and sharing of God’s love and plan for each of us. This school community allows us to embrace and worship God and this supports all of us, in good times and in tough times.

At Meadowlark Christian School, the constant resolve of the staff, the MCS Foundation, and our parent community is to provide our students an environment focused on Learning and academic success, while Living our lives in Christ, Leading in service to others and Loving with strength of character. This is our ongoing commitment and resolution; these four L’s shape and guide the culture of this very special school community.

I hope that your New Year is off to a great start!
