Principal’s Message June 2013

Dear Parents,

Rocket Ride

This is my last year at Meadowlark Christian School. I have accepted the Principalship of Velma E. Baker School beginning this September. The past three years haven’t slipped by, they have rocketed past. Someone I was talking to awhile ago likened a bobsleigh ride to a rocket ride on ice and when I think of my time here I can’t help but think that it really has been a bobsleigh ride. Not just because of the speed of the journey, but also because of the many twists and turns it has taken.

Like any bobsleigh athlete worth his weight in spandex will tell you, the skill in piloting the ice rocket is to lean this way and push that way at just the right time. One slip up and your sled could end up heading off course. Bobsleigh pilots will also tell you that the most exhilarating and rewarding moments of their journey are when they navigate those crazy twists and turns without flipping over or flying off the track. I am happy to report that the sleigh has remained on track. Despite a lighting fast ride with many twists and turns, we have managed to move forward as a school community.

Now, as I turn over the driver’s seat of the MCS Bobsleigh to a new principal, I pray that his/her journey with the parents, staff and students will be as enjoyable and exhilarating as mine was.

Farewell Meadowlark Christian School family. The memories I take with me from my time here will forever be held close to my heart.
