Principal’s Message November 2013

Dear Parents,

November has arrived and continuing my thanksgiving musings from the October newsletter, I am so thankful that it has come to us without a blanket of snow covering the ground and cold winds blowing. Our wonderful weather this fall has allowed our students to remain active and to continue playing outdoors, during their recess breaks and in physical education classes – which I know has a positive impact on their learning, health and overall wellness.

I want to thank all of the parents and guardians who came to parent/teacher interviews on October 29 & 30. We value your partnership in education and the support you give to your children and to the staff at Meadowlark Christian School. I also want to take this opportunity to remind you that the first full report card for this year will be released on SchoolZone on Friday November 22, 2013.

A school wide chapel will be held on Friday November 8 at 10:45 pm to observe Remembrance Day. This provides us with an opportunity to reflect and honour the sacrifices of all those who have served this great country in past conflicts and who continue to work for peace today. We educate our students about the sacrifices made by others and try to inspire them to be empathetic leaders in our society dedicated to seeking peace, justice, hope and charity. Christ brought to this world a message of peace, respect for others and to value the dignity and worth of every person. Let each of us pray for these values in our community and also for those parts of our world where currently there is no peace.
